The Original Mission

In 2019 we extended our operations by creating the Outpost bike share program to fill a gap for our locals and visitors. To provide convenient self-service bike stations around town specifically at our local business's. With the idea that our stations will not only promote jumping on a bike and exploring our city but more importantly showcase the local businesses in our community!

To keep it simple...we created the OutPost program to be the "link in the chain" to directly connect our riders to our amazing local shops that are the soul of our city.

Proof Is In The Pudding

We’ve had the past five years to dream up the perfect bike share program for our city and now the time has come!

Over those five years, we’ve carefully noted which type of bike works best, how many bikes vs docking spots, what features the app needs, where stations should be located, and why riders need great destinations to explore. It’s great to hop on a bike and cruise around with ease, but it’s even better when the app map guides you along routes to our favorite local spots.

What’s Happening & What’s Next

We’re building a completely custom City Bike Share program that keeps the core concept of our OutPost program while elevating the experience. You won’t see any of our current OutPost stations, as we’ve phased them out in preparation for the new system launching in October 2026.

Our new bike share program focuses on delivering the highest-quality custom bikes, a simple and user-friendly experience, and an app that not only shows station locations but also highlights local businesses to discover while exploring on two wheels.

Will the new city bike program include docking stations located directly at select businesses, similar to the OutPost program?

Yes! We’ll have docking stations at a variety of shops and restaurants throughout the city. You can expect convenient docking locations downtown, on Anastasia Island, and in Vilano.

Does this new bike share allow you to take a bike from a station downtown and return it to another on the island?

Yes! That’s exactly how we designed it.

With twice as many docking stations as bikes, you can grab a ride, cruise to your next stop, and dock without the stress of hunting for a spot. Whether it’s a quick hop across town, a full day of exploring, commuting to work, swinging by the market, or catching a show at the St. Augustine AMP, it’s all smooth and simple.

What did you do with the retired OutPost bikes?

So glad you asked! We re"cycle" these bikes back into our community to an awesome local non-profit program called OBBRA. Keep checking in to get the story on them!
